AIRBILITY project

We are pleased about the approval of the research promotion agency FFG for the project application AIRBILITY. On September 29th we were able to hold the kick-off meeting for the project. Participation in AIRBILITY opens up a new dimension for PLANUM in the truest sense of the word:

The goal of the AIRBILITY research project is to investigate various issues related to the integration of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) into the overall transportation system. This research work is necessary to identify and mitigate negative effects and rebound effects before a roll-out. It comes to an estimation of what impact the integration of drones as a new means of transportation has on the overall transportation system – presented using different use cases. Based on this, fact sheets can be derived, options for action identified and possible applications made tangible for stakeholders by means of simulations.

PLANUM is tasked with quantifying the changes in demand in the overall transportation system and presenting the spatial and economic impacts.
