PLANUM developed an intermunicipal bicycle traffic plan for the six municipalities of Feldkirchen bei Graz, Karlsdorf, Werndorf, Wundschuh, Premstätten, and Seiersberg-Pirka. The Styrian provincial government is providing funding (~13 million euros) for its implementation.

PLANUM is working with the market town of Feldkirchen to implement the approved measures. Along Triester Straße, a 3.3-meter-wide, physically separated pedestrian and bike path is being constructed up to the entrance to Kalsdorf. To improve traffic safety and reduce noise pollution, the speed limit for this section has been lowered from 70 to 50 km/h.

The region is one of the fastest-growing economic areas in Styria. The future continuous cycling infrastructure will improve options for sustainable everyday mobility. Groundbreaking took place in August, and completion is still scheduled for 2026.

We are pleased that these important transportation routes will soon be available for use.
