The construction of a meeting zone is planned in the center of Stanz im Mürztal. This will revitalize the town center and allow motor vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists to coexist on an equal footing. The quality of life on the town square will also improve. The analysis of the current situation shows that the road cross-section is undersized. A meeting zone and traffic calming is therefore also desirable for the safety of pedestrians.
The planned redesign of the streetscape will make the town center more attractive for non-motorized traffic and improve the townscape.
Some of the planned measures are:
Create a level surface
Adapt surface optically for pedestrian zones
Construct the new concrete ceiling as a grid field, crosswise striped with concrete strips (white concrete)
The bus situation is structurally adapted and improved
A new entrance and exit to Raiffeisenbank
Swale stones on both sides of the road improve drainage for the side streets and the community forecourt
New plantings in front of the municipal office
This contract was successfully completed by PLANUM in September 2023.
