The exploratory project “Wohnen findet Stadt” pursues an integrative approach to the refurbishment and modernization of buildings and building groups in social\/municipal housing. The demonstration object is the Burgfriedsiedlung in Hallein, which, with its high traffic load and open development structure, can serve as an example project for a large number of similar existing structures in the city and province of Salzburg – and beyond. <\/p>\n

On the basis of the settlement, planning tools and measures are evaluated and, building on this, a multipliable modernization concept is developed, which combines the latest technological developments (e.g. a multifunctional fa\u00e7ade with sound absorption and component activation) in a cross-system approach with the surroundings.
To this end, redevelopment measures are coordinated with site specifics from the areas of mobility, energy, infrastructure, demographics and open space.
In addition, the results of an externally commissioned socio-scientific study, which is to ensure the acceptance of the measures among the residents in the settlement area in the form of surveys, interviews and workshops, will be used in the project.<\/span> PLANUM’s task in the project is to investigate the effects of facade renovation with sound-absorbing elements.
The acoustic camera was used to make before-and-after measurements on the facades.
The effects on the entire neighborhood are visualized in noise maps through acoustic simulation of the situation before and after the renovation (reflecting and absorbing facade). <\/p>\n

<\/span>The objective of the PLANUM office is to record and analyze the existing noise situation with the help of sound level measurements in the study area. This is done by means of a 3D terrain model, which is modeled in the sound propagation program IMMI. Based on the sound level measurements and the previous traffic studies, a realistic model could be created. <\/p>\n
