The feasibility study on cycling routes through P\u00f6rtschach am W\u00f6rthersee<\/em> has been successfully completed. Due to its attractive location on Lake W\u00f6rthersee, P\u00f6rtschach is also very popular with cyclists. Due to the heavy motor vehicle traffic on the main road, many cyclists switch to Annastrasse. <\/p>

The aim of the study was to develop a sustainable and attractive solution for integrating cycle traffic into the B83 national road<\/strong>. PLANUM first analyzed the conditions in the local area and developed various scenarios for bicycle traffic routing. The existing road space was examined in its full width in order to explore and evaluate the possibilities of different routes for bicycle traffic. This revealed several critical bottlenecks.

<\/p>

With a focus on the existing parking lot situation, the available space potential was further narrowed down. In close coordination with the state of Carinthia and the municipality of P\u00f6rtschach, additional framework conditions were defined and the options examined were documented. <\/p>

An essential part of the considerations was the possibility of an extended design of the street space<\/strong> with regard to the quality of stay. The feasibility study provides the basis for the next planning steps and implementation.

We look forward to the implementation by the municipality and the state of Carinthia.<\/p>
